The future of the Sawtooth Bluff and the surrounding Grand Marais watershed watershed—overlooking the the historic fishing shing town town and popular tourist destination of Grand Marais, Minnesota, on the North Shore of Lake Superior—has been a topic of community interest for decades. When news emerged in 2025 that an 80-acre parcel on the Sawtooth Bluff would be offered for sale, local residents formed the Preserve the Bluff Committee (” (“the the Committee” Committee”), ), a volunteer group of about 15 community members dedicated to preserving the property’s unique scenic vistas and property’s fragile ecosystem within the Grand Marais watershed.
